Kate McKinnon had dozens of killer impressions and recurring characters over her 11-year run on Saturday Night Live. Even if you devoted her entire first episode guest hosting to just the great ones, you still wouldn’t have enough time. But if you’ve got Billie Eilish as the musical guest, there is simply no better bit to bring back than “Whiskers R We.”
The sketch always used to feature the guest host, so it makes sense to have Eilish be the object of Barbara DeDrew’s affections. Over the course of the segment, McKinnon and her guest display varying levels of repressed sexual desire as the cats they present for adoption try to wriggle out of their arms. It’s a bit that always goes awry due to unpredictable animals and guests who can’t help but giggle for real as their characters themselves laugh at the awfulness of the puns.
Cindy Claw-ford – complete with beauty mark. Cat Sajak. Fur-rell Williams – complete with trademark hat. The names get worse as their described behaviors get more outrageous.

racter. As it turns out, they have more than looks in common; they discover they have the same favorite show, the same favorite movie, favorite curse word, and celeb crush. Yes, “Paw-brey” is most likely Barbara’s daughter – throwing the sexual tension into a weird limbo that is too gross to be sad and too silly to be gross. In other words: the perfect McKinnon sketch.
As always, this is nestled in the “10 to 1” slot – just before the closing credits – where all the weirdest sketches go. Come for McKinnon perving on her own daughter; stay for Eilish trying to keep it together as a ferocious guinea pig squeals like it was auditioning for Braveheart.
