We may have another famous Maura on our hands, as Irish content creator and yogi Maura Rath has just announced she’s taking part in this year’s series of The Apprentice – fair play!

The Dublin-based yoga teacher and podcaster shared the news on social media this week, stating that she was so excited for her journey to air.

“Finally the hardest kept secret is out! I am a candidate on this year’s Apprentice, yes me yogi Maura,” she wrote.

“The business side of yoga has always fascinated me. I have big plans to make Yoga with Maura a household name, which is why I’m going for investment from Lord Sugar.

‘This has been my hardest business journey to date, testing me emotionally and physically. It’s been an absolute rollercoaster and I can’t believe on February 1st episode 1 will be out! Yes St Brigit’s day which I think is a good sign for an Irish women.”

Maura went on to say that she couldn’t practice yoga every day while shooting the show, and that it really “took its toll.” We can only presume that she got on okay though, as she added that she can’t wait for her followers to see the series.

“I can’t wait to share this journey with you all, that’s if I don’t get fired after task 1,” she said.

Chatting ahead of the series, Maura added: “I believe I deserve Lord Sugar’s investment because my business promotes positivity and well-being, in a profitable and scalable way, with five income streams.

“I hear back that my business brings some people a little bubble of self-love, it helps some people with that winter dread, and people move stronger and more freely than before.”

Maura isn’t the first Irish woman to appear on the UK show in the hopes of earning some serious investment from Lord Sugar.

Beauty entrepreneur Pamela Laird, Kildare’s Emma Browne, and Dublin based marketing exec Jennifer Maguire are just some of the businesswomen who have taken part in the long-running series over the years.

Best of luck, Maura – you got this!

The new series of The Apprentice airs on BBC One on February 1.
