Daniel Dubois silenced Jarrell Miller with a late knockout victory in Saudi Arabia.

On the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card also featuring Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, the Londoner bounced back from his world title defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in the summer with an emphatic final round stoppage win over the American.

Miller, who failed a string of drug tests in the lead-up to his doomed showdown against Joshua in 2019, had been a brash and vocal presence all throughout fight week in Riyadh.

The Brooklyn fighter had repeatedly questioned Dubois’ heart, accusing the 26-year-old of quitting in his world title defeat to Usyk in August having also been halted by Joe Joyce in his only other defeat in 2020.

But Dubois emerged through an exhausting battle to ruthlessly dispatch Miller in the 10th and final round to extend his record to 20 wins and two defeats.

Dubois largely controlled the opening three rounds but was showing signs of fatigue by the fourth up against a man almost 100lbs heavier than him.

The two traded heavy blows throughout the mid-rounds with Dubois surviving the sort of shots and pressure that have led some to question his potential in the heavyweight division.

Dubois found a second wind in the final rounds, reasserting his authority and catching Miller with eye-catching and spiteful shots with his opponent throwing little back.

The Greenwich fighter continued to land in the final round, battering an exhausted Miller with the referee stepping in eight seconds before the final bell to end the fight.

On a stacked undercard in Saudi, Agit Kabayel secured perhaps the biggest upset of the night, breaking down Arslanbek Makhmudov to secure a huge stoppage win.

The reigning European champion slowed down and dropped Makhmudov with huge body shots with the fight called off in the fourth round. The huge Makhmudov had previously stopped 17 of his 18 opponents via knockout but suffered the first defeat of his career after being taken apart by the German.

On a night of knockouts, Jai Opetaia provided one of the most impressive with a vicious stoppage victory over Ellis Zorro.

Anthony Joshua is the headline act, he needs to send that message to Deontay Wilder

Opetaia, who this week vacated his IBF title under pressure from the sanctioning body, underlined his status as the most dangerous cruiserweight on the planet after putting away the south Londoner with a one-punch knockout. Opetaia remains the Ring Magazine champion and is now targeting more world title success in 2024.

Filip Hrgovic secured the 17th win of his career in a laughable mismatch against Mark de Mori. The Croatian, who is the mandatory challenger for the IBF title currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, pummelled the Australian, securing the win inside two minutes of the opening round.

Frank Sanchez opened the night with a knockout victory over Junior Fa, breaking down the New Zealander and dropping him three times with spiteful shots to secure the win in the seventh round.
