Curb Your Enthusiasm to End With Season 12 at HBO — Get Premiere Date

Larry David will burn his final bridges in 2024.

HBO announced Thursday that the upcoming 12th season of Curb Your Enthusiasm will be its last. The 10-episode swan song gets underway on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 10/9c, with the series finale set for April 7.

“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” series creator and star David said in a statement. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

“It’s hard to say farewell to such a ground-breaking, brilliantly funny and iconic series like Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has left its mark across television and the comedy genre,” added HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys. “Working alongside Larry David and Jeff Schaffer as well as all of the comedic masterminds that comprise our producers, cast and crew has been a joy that I will always treasure.”

Speculation that Curb would end with Season 12 began back in March, when, in a since-deleted tweet, producer Jon Hayman wrote, “Maybe you love the show. Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don’t give a s—t. In any event, shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.” (HBO did not comment at the time.)

Also returning for the final season are Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Smoove, Richard Lewis, Ted Danson, Vince Vaughn and Tracey Ullman.

Curb Your Enthusiasm first debuted in October 2000 and initially ran until 2011 before going on a several-year-long hiatus. The series then returned in October 2017, with Season 9, and aired two more seasons in 2020 and 2021. Across its run, the series has amassed 51 Primetime Emmy nominations and two wins, which came in 2003 (for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series) and 2012 (for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series).
