So what’s it about?
According to Deadline: “Steve is a reimagining of Porter’s Shy and traces a pivotal 24 hours in the life of its eponymous character, a headteacher (Cillian) of a last-chance reform school who struggles to keep his students in line, while also grappling with his spiralling mental health.”
It will be directed by Tim Mielants, who has also worked with Cillian on Peaky Blinders and their upcoming adaptation of the Claire Keegan bestseller Small Things Like These, which receives its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next week.
Steve is set to begin production this Spring.
With all of Cillian’s recent success, it looks like his son is also set to follow in his footsteps having recently landed a major role in a film.
The 16-year-old has been cast in Taika Waititi’s upcoming film Klara and the Sun.
The movie will star Wednesday star, Jenna Ortega and the one and only, Amy Adams. So we’re sure it will be a hit.
