‘Big Brother 26’s’ Leah: Makensy was ‘influenced by others’ opinions’

After nominating — and getting out — T’Kor last week on “Big Brother 26,” Leah Peters was the last remaining houseguest who had yet to hit the block. That changed this week when Makensy, who had full control with HOH and Veto victories, backdoored Leah after Chelsie worked her magic on her. And in the first unanimous vote of the season, Leah was evicted 4-0 over Angela on Thursday.

The 26-year-old “had no idea” Makensy was considering putting her up. “I had a tiny bit of a suspicion whenever I saw Chelsie running up and down the stairs that she was talking to Makensy and sort of convincing her to some degree to put me up,” she tells Gold Derby (watch above). “The only the time that I truly had the feeling that I was going up on the block was when Makensy used the Veto on Kimo. I was like, ‘There is no way I’m not going to be the one up there sitting next to Angela.’ And I was still so shocked and surprised even when I was sitting there.”

Leah believes Makensy was “influenced by others’ opinions,” and why she understands why Makensy nominated her, she still feels betrayed. “I still don’t agree with it because she was never a target in my eyes,” she says.

After Leah hit the block, she immediately knew she made an unforced error last week when she nominated T’Kor instead of Chelsie. “I didn’t target Chelsie last week because I felt as though if she won the Veto herself, she would’ve taken herself off and targeted me the following week,” she explains. “I also felt like unless I could put her up next to T’Kor, there was no person that would ensure her eviction, and either way she could’ve 100 percent won the HOH the following week and targeted me. So I was more worried that targeting her and it not following through would result in her targeting me.”

While Leah is out of the game, she will reunite with her potential showmance Quinn in the jury house. “I cannot even imagine what Quinn’s reaction is going to be,” she says. “I think that although he’ll be excited to see me, he’ll be very disappointed that I didn’t continue to go farther, so I think it’ll be very bittersweet for both of us.”
