‘Big Brother 26’s’ Kimo: ‘Chelsie and Makensy are the biggest threats in the game’

Kimo Apaka had been nominated every week on “Big Brother 26″ since Week 7, including the double eviction, and nearly survived again this week. Alas, Cam and Chelsie stuck with the original plan by evicting the 35-year-old 2-0 on Thursday.

“This week, as every other week has been that I’ve been on the block, which has been about half of the summer, has never felt completely secure,” Kimo tells Gold Derby (watch above). “I had conversations with the two people who mattered the most because they were voting, and that was Cam and Chelsie. I talked to them both individually and I thought, ‘I think I’m good with both of them.’ I believed that I had, especially with Cam, a good pitch on why keeping me was good for both of their games. They both said they wanted me to stay, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to stay.”

Makensy made it clear that she wanted Kimo to leave over Rubina this week. There was no pushback from Cam or Chelsie until Wednesday evening after Kimo had campaigned to Cam, promising to target Makensy if he stays. Cam pushed for a Rubina eviction to Chelsie before the two of them took it to Makensy, who wasn’t overly enthused by the idea but ultimately said Cam and Chelsie could do whatever they want. In the end, Chelsie got Cam to cave and abort the vote-flip. But would Kimo really have taken out Makensy?

“I would have put Chelsie and Makensy on the block,” Kimo explains. “I’ve been telling Cam for weeks I was not going to put him on the block. I did genuinely think he was best for my game. I think he agreed, too. Chelsie and Makensy are the biggest threats in the game and amazing competitors. There was always going to be the concern of the Veto situation, because that is crucial. Whoever wins Veto ultimately has more of the power going forward. I was going to cross that bridge when I got there, but I just wanted to show Cam that I meant what I said.”

As Kimo heads off to the jury house, has he come up with a song about his eviction? “I have not come up with a song for my eviction yet, though I probably should have had something prepared in my back pocket,” he laughs. “It would probably sound very short because I don’t feel too good about it, and I’m not trying to put my creativity and joy into it. But it would probably sample one of the greatest hits coming out of the Big Brother house this summer.”
